Dear Yat Kha (all since 1991), a first I thank my son Jean-Marie, 26 years old,for sending me your website.(he made enquiries about Mongolie and he is going to go there in august). For the moment I've baught2CDs: the first and the last.Very different of course, but full of feelings, dreams, energy... With you we travel so far... Hello Yat Kha from New Mexico, USA! I have nearly all of your CD's and they are just GREAT!!! I am flying to Tuva on July 19th as part of Devan Miller's first tour to Tuva. I will be breaking off from Devan's tour group and instead will be staying about 10 days in Kyzyl. This is to lay more of the groundwork for an ecological cross-cultural exchange a group of us are trying to organize for Tuva in the Fall of 2008. Is there any chance to meet with some of you? Two reasons: One, I am really interested in the useful plants of Tuva and sure would like to visit with Zhenya TKACHOV, as it sounds like he knows a good bit about them. Two, I am working with Steve Sklar and my throat singing teacher Brian Grover to organize the First North American Conference on Throat Singing and Overtone Singing, which we are scheduling for the San Francisco Bay area in the Winter of 2008. Just thought I had better warn you guys that you may well lose a lot of subscribers to this newsletter! Let me explain - I just received an e-mail from Yat-Kha Newsletter asking me to confirm that I wished to continue to get the newsletter. I had to click on a link in the e-mail to validate this confirmation. This whole thing looked so suspicious - classic spamming to get valid e-mail addresses.

Under normal circumstances I would just have trashed the e-mail and ignored it. This is what many current subscribers may do! The only thing that stopped me was my concern that it could be genuine and I did want to remain on the mailing list. Even so, there was no way I was going to click on a link in an e-mail so I went to the trouble of actually coming on to the site and then typing in each stage of the url link so that I could follow the path. It did appear to be taking me where it should so I then entered my e-mail and the validation code.

Maybe I'm paranoid but I think that a fair number of current subscribers will just ignore the e-mail rather than validating their e-mail address.

Yeah, OK, so the White Stripes were fantastic at Blackpool (UK) last night, but listening to Re-covers for the first time afterwards was an equally uplifting experience! In fact I am listening to the album right now, and like all good albums it just gets better and better. There are some great versions of The Wild Mountain Thyme (especially by the Byrds), but by Albert Kuvezin? Wow!! I'm sure Don van Vliet (if he were up to it) would love to hear the take of Captain Beefheart! And what about the uncanny resemblance between Singapore by Tom Waits, and Pesnya o Giraffe - this surely can't be explained away by coincidence! Just a thought, there is a great world festival of street music and theatre in Holland every June called Oeral. It is on an island and the stages are on the beach and in the dunes. http://www.oerol.nl/ I just thought you would be great there. I couldn't dance last night. I would love to see you somewhere where I could dance - in the dunes would be amazing! I heard you for the first time on Phill Jupitus, I requested you a couple of times too. Thankyou, I loved the Russian Drummer and the Rasta Bass and the Other guy who played an instrument I don't know what it's called or where he is from but he was amazing. Regarding Tuva and technological help; did you have time when you were in Aberystwyth, Wales in 2003 to visit the Centre for Alternative Technology in Machynlleth?
